The lamination method is used in the repair of corroded or damaged pipe systems. This method is often compared to plaster cast application. The thin-walled pipe is covered by something like a bandage impregnated with special quickly hardening composite substances, and thus the technically safe wall thickness is restored. Composite substances are resistant to petroleum products, hydrocarbons, water, salt water, diluted acids and solvents. For this reason, the method can be employed not only for repair of piping systems, but also on pumps, valves, radiators and heat exchangers.
Repair is carried out during the production process and allows to avoid the replacement of the whole pipe. This prevents unplanned downtime and reduces repair costs.
